Published between 1937 and 1949 in the form of thirty-four paperback volumes, Virginia Colonial Abstracts brought together a wealth of data from the records of Tidewater Virginia--vital records of birth, marriage, and death; tax lists, court orders, militia lists; wills; and deeds. In 1988 the entire opus was re-issued in a consolidated, re-typed, and indexed three-volume set (see Item 1890). Volume III has records of York, Charles City, Henrico, Lower Norfolk, and Washington counties.
