Wells' History of Roane County is divided into five sections, the first four of which constitute a sourcebook of genealogical material--early tax lists and lists of voters, militiamen, justices, veterans of the Revolution and the War of 1812, marriages, church members, and communicants. The fifth section comprises scores of family histories, with references to more than 10,000 related persons.
