Shortly after the publication of his genealogy of playwright Tennessee Williams, John Brayton came into the possession of information correcting one of the lines in the Williams book (that of Mrs. Keziah Robertson Sevier) and additional information bearing on John Robertson, father of the Tennessee hero, General James Robertson. These findings were the impetus for this work, which was published as an addendum to Brayton's work on Tennessee Williams. In a word, this book traces the ancestry of General Robertson (1742-1814) back to Prince George and Henrico counties, Virginia, and corrects a number of errors in previous Robertson genealogies.
