The second volume of the Society's Genealogies of the Members contains some 200 genealogies of persons admitted into membership by the Society between 1905--the year of publication of the prior volume--and 1940. (It should be emphasized that unlike the skeletal pedigree charts in the 1905 volume, the lines found in Volume II take the form of detailed genealogies.) The genealogies are arranged in alphabetical order by member, and most of them go back seven or eight generations. In fact, a majority of the lineages go considerably beyond the qualifying Colonial Wars ancestor to that individual's antecedents in the colonies and abroad--sometimes ten or eleven generations in all. As many as 30,000 persons descended from or ascending to the qualifying ancestors are to be found in this remarkable book.
