In order to qualify for membership in the distinguished National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims (NSSDP) lineage organization, each applicant must demonstrate that he/she possesses an immigrant ancestor who arrived in the American colonies between 1620 and 1700. The term "Pilgrim" in the context of this organization refers to travelers to all parts of the colonies, not just New England. In fact, most of these Pilgrims settled in the mideastern and southern shores of the colonies.

Since its formation in 1909, NSSDP has published the lineage records of about 11,500 persons admitted to membership. Each lineage record contains the names of every member's ancestors in the direct line of descent, with dates of birth, marriage, and death--all going straight back to the immigrants of the 17th century. With so many relationships already worked out, the lineage records of the National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims represent a steppingstone to the colonial past for present-day researchers.

These NSSDP lineage records are now available as an eight-volume set from Clearfield Company--at a great savings to researchers. Volumes I and II, Lineages of Members of the National Society of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, are both available in a reprint edition. Volume I was originally published in 1929 and re-indexed in 1958, while Volume II was originally published in 1953 and had an index added in 1988. Volume III, Sixteen Hundred Lines to Pilgrims, was published in 1982 and reprinted in 1996. The remaining five volumes, titled National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, Lineage Book IV (1993), Lineage Book V (1995), Lineage Book VI (1997), Lineage Book VII (1999), and Lineage Book VIII (2002) are available in the original edition. In all, these eight indexed volumes refer to a colossal 100,000 persons. Purchased individually, these eight volumes would cost $270.00; however, you can get them as a complete set from Clearfield Company for merely $159.95!

The following individual volumes are also available:
Lineage Book VII
Lineage Book VIII
