Phillimore's three-volume Index (see also Items 8036 and 8037) to Domesday Book provides the only known means of analyzing the contents of the 35-volume work and unlocking its ancient secrets. This volume is an index containing 5,000 substantive items. By virtue of its correspondence to the original work, this Subject Index can be used by those who do not have access to the Phillimore Domesday and covers every aspect of the great work.
