This volume compiles Bills of Sale, Certificates of Freedom, Certificates of Slavery, Emancipations and Manumission found in Volume 2 of the District of Columbia Land Indexes, and covers the period from 1806 and into 1816. It contains 102 pages of index and 180 pages of abstracts. Over 680 entries are abstracted in the endnotes. Also, surname lists of enslaved/free persons of color and slaveholders for both Vol. 1 and 2 are included (see Vol. 1, 1792-1806).
