This Bowerman family has been in America since 1643 when Thomas Boreman first appeared on Cape Cod in Plymouth Colony (Massachusetts). Thoms (3) Bowerman married a descendant of the Mayflower passenger William Brewster. Their descendants moved to Maine and westward across America. Some settled in Canada. Bowermans were early converts to the Society of Friends (Quakers). The Hoag family is another early Quaker family traced in this book.
