Jacksonport Through the Generations is a book of family histories, stories, and pictures of families who were early settlers in the Jacksonport Township. These stories were written by family members of the early settlers, who diligently researched and wrote of the trials and tribulations of their ancestors. The stories in this book highlight the importance of clearing the land of virgin forests to establish family farms, promote the lumber industry, and facilitate the construction of the many wood buildings in this area.
Most of these families are of Irish and German descent, with strong work ethics and an even stronger faith in God. Allied surnames include Bagley, Bagnall, Bower, Krueger, Oldenburg, Reynolds, Robinson, Teich, and Wilson.
