This is a compilation of several articles written in the 1920s about the resident Catholic priests in Chicago and the surrounding territory from 1833 to 1844. A source book for genealogists, it includes listings for baptisms and marriages of some 2,600 individuals, including the earliest French, German, and Irish settlers. Also included is a chronological table from 1833 to 1860 of the Catholic mission stations established in Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kankakee, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties of Illinois.
