A major work on early pioneers and prominent citizens and families of Arkansas, Shinn's Pioneers covers the history of the settlement of the state from its formation down to the latter half of the nineteenth century. Still other genealogical features include lists of Revolutionary pensioners alive in 1833 and 1834, with their ages, arranged by county; some marriages of 1822 and 1823; a general list of Arkansas marriages, 1820-1830; and Arkansas deaths, 1820-1839.
